There were lots of great restaurants nearby and Shambles was just a 5 minute walk. Looked for the hotel with the mini fridge and the heater and this place exceeded my expectations. Couldn't recommend it enough. Would definitely return if we were ever in York again.

The staff was super friendly. The rooms are spaceous and the have a big citchen, a cozy living room, a social room and even a bar. I could leave my backpack in the morning to check-in later and it was not a problem. The beds and showers were clean. Unfortunately I was just there for one night but next time I will stay longer and I already know it will be this hostel.

Jorvik - an interesting journey through time and well worth visiting. York Minster and the crypt with it's Roman history and the story of how they are saving the Minster from sinking and cracking further. The Yorkshire Museum with its different exhibits ranging from Richard III, the Romans and Medieval times to extinct animals of the world. Also the museum gardens are worth wandering around.
